Born in Sydney in 1979, Ricketts with fellow New South Welshman David Palmer and Canberras Stewart Boswell kept the Australian squash flag flying high during the 2000s. At age 31, Anthony Ricketts was ranked as high as 3rd in the world and was the top Australian at the time. Unfortunately, his career was marred by a series of knee injuries, one of which eventually forced him into a premature retirement. Following his retirement, Anthony Ricketts is a high-performance coach for Squash New Zealand and is engaged to former number 1 New Zealand and 2007 Australian Open champion Shelley Kitchen.
