Adam Schreiber

Adam was coached by John Amer initially, followed by Geoff Hunt and Ken Hiscoe, after obtaining a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport in 1986. He was a successful junior and senior member of the NSW State team from 1980 to 1995. He won the Madrid, Paris and San Francisco Opens and was a semi-finalist in the US, Bermuda, Australian, New Zealand and Swiss Opens, and a quarter finalist in the Hong Kong Open. Adam’s greatest wins were against Rodney Martin (Former world Champion), Brett Martin (Former world no 2), Rodney Eyles (Former world Campion), Ross Norman (Former world Champion and 1st man to beat the great Jahangir khan). Adam represented Australia for 3 test matches against New Zealand in 1985, where Australia won the series.

Adam’s career was unfortunately cut short due to a knee injury. After 5 years playing the tour, he turned to coaching where he coached the Australian Junior squad for a tour to Malaysia and the Australian under 23 squad for a series against Malaysia in Melbourne. Adam has also coached the NSW State junior teams as head coach for the Australian Championships.

As a member of the Aboriginal Sports Hall of Fame, Adam is committed to helping the Aboriginal community as a whole.
